Montreat Youth/Montreat Middle School Conferences for July 2011

Dear parents and youth,

It is time to start securing spots for the Montreat Youth/Montreat Middle School Conferences for July 2011. This year we will be joining First Presbyterian Church, Sarasota, so spots are limited. This is the first year we will be participating in the Montreat Middle School Conference located at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC.
Middle and Senior High youth will travel together as their conferences overlap. Time not spent at the conference will be at my in-law’s lake house about 2 hours from both conferences.

It is also time to reserve spots for the Senior High mission trip to Miami. We will be participating in The DOOR-Miami for a multitude of service opportunities and worship experiences. I’m in need of a male chaperone for the Miami Mission Trip. If interested let me know—your costs are covered. Space is limited—I only have space for 4 youth in my car. More space will open if we have a male chaperone who is also willing to drive. Anyone?

Each of these trips will cost participants an average of $250. HOWEVER, I know there are sibling pairs, financial strains, etc.. Please do NOT let money be the reason why your child cannot participate. We can also work with you on the early deposit payment. Every single youth has received some sort of scholarship, and all you have to do is email me asking for the scholarship application. All of our scholarships come from our fundraising account. Thus, scholarship awards will be considered on first come basis and how much the youth participated in the fundraising activities. THIS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ARE FUNDRAISING EVENTS WHERE WE WILL BE DECORATING CHRISTMAS WREATHS FROM 9-10:30 AT PEACE. WE WILL SELL THEM SUNDAY.Finally, our rates are based on early bird registrations. If you do not meet deadlines, you risk paying more for registration. There is limited space for some of the trips. You reserve a space by turning in your signed commitment letter and non-refundable deposit. It is VERY important you turn in both of these things by the date listed (Dec. 31 or Jan 9), as I will not reserve your spot without them. Unfortunately we lost over $600.00 this past year from late cancellations. That’s quite a lot when we only have $2500 in our budget. Again, let me know if you need scholarship help to reserve your space.

I think we have some great trips planned and am really excited for the coming year.
